Postdoctoral Position in Exascale Computing at University College Dublin

The Heterogeneous Computing Laboratory at University College Dublin (UCD), as part of the IBM Exascale activity (, is seeking a suitable postdoctoral fellow and PhD candidate. These positions will be co-funded by IRCSET and IBM through IRCSET`s Enterprise Partnership Scheme. The Exascale activity will adopt a Stream Computing paradigm and will utilize streaming hardware and techniques – some of which will be developed as part of this activity. Ideally, the successful postdoctoral fellow will have a proven track record in parallel and distributed computing. They will have strong mathematical and software development skills.

They should be familiar with the literature on related topics including: multi-core and multi-threading, data partitioning, resource allocation and mapping, scheduling, pipelining, data locality and data movement, communication, load-balancing, fault-tolerance, performance modeling (processors and communication networks), and parallel algorithm design. Familiarity with large-scale parallel computing and the concepts of heterogeneous and hierarchical computing is also desirable.
