CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics have an exciting Post Doctoral Research Fellow position for a statistician with an interest in spatial and spatio-temporal statistics. This three year position will be based at Clayton in Melbourne, working in the Business and Services Analytics Research Program.

Location: Clayton, Melbourne Australia
Salary: $73k - $80k pa + superannuation
Tenure: 3 year contract, full-time

In this exciting role you will:
- Be a member of a highly successful team of applied statisticians working to address challenging problems in the services industry, deployment and monitoring of sensor networks, analysis of complex mining datasets, short-term flood forecasting, and the application of risk methodologies to complex processes;
- Work on new statistical methodologies to deliver innovative solutions for the deployment of sensor nodes and the analysis of data collected from sensors.

To be successful for this role you will have a PhD in statistics and have demonstrable statistical and mathematical knowledge. You will be proficient with the use of statistical packages and their environments and you will have excellent written and oral communication skills and work effectively in team environments.
