[beasiswa] Re: [butuh info] Ingin dapat PhD dengan tempo yang sesingkat-singkatnya

Halo Mas Franklin,

Sepengetahuan saya memang kebanyakan universitas di Eropa hanya membutuhkan 3 tahun utk menyelesaikan S3. Tp klo univ di US sepertinya hampir semua membutuhkan waktu 5 tahun.
Namun perlu dicatat, waktu tersebut adalah waktu tercepat dan ideal. Tetap professor lah yg akan memutuskan apakah seseorang patut mendapatkan PhD nya dlm waktu tersebut.

Dr pengalaman teman saya yg awalnya menyangka bahwa dia dpt menyelesaikan PhDnya dlm waktu 3 tahun, tetapi ternyata professornya menuntut lebih banyak paper dan jurnal. Sementara buat jurnal terutama, biasanya membutuhkan waktu yg lama utk mereview.

Selain itu walaupun ada universitas yg mgk tdk mensyaratkan paper ato jurnal buat kelulusan, tetap saja saya rasa sangat disayangkan sekali apabila kita lulus PhD tanpa paper dan jurnal. Krn menurut saya, tujuan PhD itu sendiri adalah full research, inilah saatnya utk mempublikasi hasil research kita. Berbeda dgn masters ato bachelor yg lbh fokus ke coursework.

Klo pendapat saya sendiri sangat sulit utk memperoleh gelar PhD langsung tanpa master krn butuh kemampuan yg bener2 extraordinary. Saran saya mgk sebaiknya ambil integrated Master/PhD saja. Kira2 butuh waktu 4 ato 5 tahunan.
